World Congress Reels in Fishermen with Reduced Rates!

Organisers of the 6th World Fisheries Congress have announced that there will be a reduced registration rate for fishermen to improve accessibility to the event, which takes place inEdinburgh later this year.  

The WFC, which is being held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre from 7-11 May 2012, attracts international delegates from throughout the academic, scientific and political sectors of the fisheries community.  In recognition of the relevance of fishing and the desire to engage with those directly involved, organisers are offering an entry package to fishermen which is half the normal price to delegates to encourage as many fishermen as possible to attend.

Mike Park, Chief Executive of the Scottish White Fish Producers Association, anticipates the decision will be received enthusiastically by industry. “This new reduced price rate will allow fishermen to attend in person. Not only will the incentive enable fishermen to attend for the full week, but for the first time it gives them the opportunity to have a presence and a voice alongside the world’s key influencers in the international fishing industry.  Read more………
